THE place for midline meanderings & musings about lacrosse scorekeeping
Time to brush up on your lacrosse scorekeeping and timekeeping skills for the 2024 high school boys lacrosse season. You're in the right place.

If you're here you're either completely new and were recruited to the lacrosse scoring table (blank stare - what did my son get into) or you're a veteran to the game (could be one season under your jersey) and you need a refresher.
I'm committed (golden words to lacrosse fans) to share tips and tricks to making your job at the lacrosse table enjoyable. Warning - this duty may be addicting.
What you can expect from me: I will dispel crazy thinking about lacrosse stats, boost your confidence, share some tips and anecdotes, and keep you going on those uber cold/hot days and hopefully add a smile to your day.
Why this. Why now.
Lacrosse continues to evolve - from the equipment to the creativity of plays to the development of boys to men. And for these reasons and more, lacrosse is more than just a game. It's an ecosystem unlike any other sport. Give selflessly and lacrosse gives back.
Over 15 years ago, our son's friend begged us to let him play youth lacrosse. The full story's to come, yet in a nutshell, when I said "OK" I had no idea what it would lead to; the connections made, the influences and impact on not just boys, but also their families.
Revamping my training materials this year I realized that a dedicated site would reach farther to help more parents who said, 'OK.' Plus I love watching my "lacrosse family" grow.
Beyond 'OK.'
With youth lacrosse in the rearview mirror and getting smaller and smaller, each year, I see the game for the first time through someone else's windshield. Front and center. Experiencing the excitement, apprehension and joy.
I've attended 100s of games, watched more than I can count and don't sleep in anticipation of the first faceoff of the season.
Time to share the Game with compassion to the newbies, to build confidence, to be a go-to resource for answers. No question too silly to ask or challenge.

Suit up.
The resources shared on this site continue to evolve. Each year I learn something new from the students in the trainings or the games I watch & listen to. Evidenced, the first classes took about an hour, now there are different classes with more content than ever.
The more I learn about lacrosse; the more I share. The more I share; the more I learn.
My best teachers.
I found my son to be the best teacher. As a youth player he was all-in and eager to learn. We watched games together, talked about practice and drills, spent hours with sticks in our hands. Now many miles away in the throws of NYC, we find time to talk about games and teams, coaches and players and rule changes.
Other teachers included the officials (USAL game officials and other table crew) - if I don't understand a call, during a TO or intermission I'd ask for clarification. 'What did you see? Why did you call that?' goes a long way.
Take a seat at the table.
Time to belly up. I hope you pull up a chair. Open the scorebook, grab the timer. Be kind to yourself. Do your best.
Check out these materials to get you grounded. And stay tuned, I'll keep posting with short form content to keep your lacrosse IQ at the top of its game.
Take a seat at the table. It's the best seat at the game. Truly.
